It’s been more than a month since Hamas’ attack in the Gaza-Israel barrier, marking a tragic chapter in the history of the nation. The weeks preceding October 7th resulted in the loss of lives of thousands of Israelis, as well as over 200 kidnapped soldiers and civilians. Up until this moment, those numbers continue to rise.
Social media has been a pivotal platform during times of conflict, enabling global communication, disseminating real-time updates, and debunking fake news and propaganda. LinkedIn has become a channel for individuals high above the ranks to voice their support, share facts, and rally for causes.
Going viral on the platform is a prestigious list of pro-Israel supporters, naming Noa Tishby, Omri Hurwitz, and Hillel Fuld among other notable figures, who leverage their network to show support, push awareness, and educate the misinformed.
Noa Tishby
Israeli actress, activist, and book author Noa Tishby shared a video on LinkedIn, explaining that the main problem in Gaza is Hamas, which has been occupying the territory since 2006. She said: “Hamas has brought destruction on Israel, and now there will be disaster in Gaza. Hamas’s charter advocates for the killing of Jews, and their claim that Israel and Israeli’s kill children is an absolute blood libel, which has made many people on the pro-palestinian side desensitized to violence against Jews and Israelis.”
Noa continued: “Hamas is ISIS! HAMAS IS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION, who’s sole desire is to destroy the Jewish people. They have no desire to help the Palestinian cause, and if you support Hamas you support terrorism.”
Omri Hurwitz
PR and media maven Omri Hurwitz creatively used the “Kangaroo” metaphorical analogy in a thought exercise to call out fake liberalists in the US and Europe. In his LinkedIn post, he shared: “Let’s say you are a “liberalist”, whatever that means. Then, your friend suddenly tells you that he is a Kangaroo. So, you tell yourself: “Well, he is obviously not a Kangaroo, but it doesn’t hurt anyone if he thinks he is, so who cares?” And then, you and your other friends acknowledge him as a Kangaroo.”
Omri continued: “Several months pass by. You sit with the Kangaroo friend in a restaurant. The Kangaroo friend is pissed, he doesn’t like the food, and when the waiter comes to ask how the meal is, the Kangaroo punches him hard, knocking him on the floor. “What are you doing!?” You shout to your Kangaroo friend. And your Kangaroo friend answers: “That is what Kangaroos do when they are pissed off, what do you expect me to do.”
In this thought-provoking post, Omri highlighted the distorted views of self-proclaimed liberalism that merely tolerates or indulges in falsehoods, and their unchecked acceptance of misinformation or misrepresentation.
Hillel Fuld
Prominent blogger and global speaker Hillel Fuld addressed the confusion and misinformation from the outside looking in. In a viral video on LinkedIn, he talked about the 1948’s Partition Plan and 2005’s Disengagement. “Israel doesn’t want war, it was forced upon us,” Hillel said. “So, just like World War 2 was justified, just like America’s war in Afghanistan was justified after 9/11, this war is justified. No one – no one is going to tell Israel to hold our fire, to stop, to react, and to respond, to retaliate proportionally. That’s a ridiculous claim, and it needs to stop.”
Hillel concluded: “At the end of the day, we need to have integrity. We need to read their charters. They say it loud and clear: they don’t want a state; they want dead Jews. This is not Arab against Jews; Muslims against Jews, Israelis against Palestinians… this is good versus evil.”
