As a certified and hands-on Terraform DevOps/IaC Engineer, Ashok has a profound understanding of multiple cloud environments like AWS and Azure. He has successfully built and managed data pipelines, showcasing his expertise in multi-cloud technologies. His certifications include AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, and Microsoft certified Azure Administrator Associate, reflecting his commitment to staying at the forefront of cloud technology.
Ashok’s professional journey is marked by a deep and broad technical skill set, underscored by his proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java, and his experience with application support. He has played pivotal roles in various capacities, showcasing his ability to adapt and thrive in complex environments. Ashok has contributed to multiple sectors, spanning education, telecom, banking, and financial services.
He began his 19 years of Application Development and Application support experience in Python and Java at Bridle IT Solutions, where his core project was SchoolMATE. This web-based software assisted schools and colleges in monitoring their daily activities. It tracked valuable information, such as communication means, student attendance, and expenses. Ashok was the lead Java developer for this project, developing forms, validating client-side data, supporting software deployment teams at client locations, and writing database accessibility.
Ashok was a senior Java developer for Core Providers, a company tailored to Fortune 500 clients. He maintained and tested services for telecom customers, developed business logic components, and programmed validations with JavaScript. Ashok incorporated web development techniques, like AJAX, to generate reports for a project’s Maintenance and Report status page. His other tasks were to analyze and map data and log any errors he encountered.
Following his telecom work, Ashok served the banking and financial services industry as a software engineering manager and an enterprise data quality manager. While he employed web development skills to create software, he utilized cloud services from AWS and Azure along with containerization techniques with Kubernetes to engineer critical applications and infrastructure with financial institutions. He directed offsite and onsite production support teams and trained junior developers in the craft. Ashok also analyzed countless data sources to develop and migrate a data pipeline to a cloud-based server.
One of his chief milestones was developing a Python-based self-healing automation application which resulted in substantial cost savings of USD 0.5 million. This innovative solution not only enhanced operational efficiency but also received patent approval from the USPTO. His software has advantages in data quality, ensuring that if it finds any errors, it corrects them and uses the information in other aspects of the app.
Leading the Road for Others in the Field
Ashok’s technical prowess is complemented by his strong leadership and management skills. His roles have often required him to bridge the gap between technical teams and business objectives, ensuring alignment and smooth project execution. To supplement his leadership skills Ashok acquired PMP certification from PMI.
As an Enterprise Data Quality Engineer, Ashok architected Azure Data Lake solutions, developed data pipelines, and created automated data quality rules. His efforts in training junior team members and generating insightful reports underscore his leadership capabilities.
In his roles as Vice President and Software Engineering Manager, Ashok was instrumental in migrating on-premise cloud applications to AWS, containerizing applications using Kubernetes, and automating production deployments. His ability to manage complex AWS environments and support customer analytics events highlights his strategic vision and operational expertise. Additionally, Ashok used to conduct regular AWS Certification sessions for Software Engineers and also train them in the latest cloud technologies.
