A rising Dallas fintech is expanding its leadership team. Dallas-based CollateralEdge has hired banking veteran David Nakhleh as vice president of commercial strategy, following two other key leadership hires last summer.
This follows a busy last quarter of 2021 for CollateralEdge, which emerged from stealth in September with an over-subscribed $3.5 million seed round for its state-of-the-art risk-mitigation tool. Designed to help regional and community banks safely extend debt capital to more businesses, the company’s offering aims to boost local economic growth across the U.S.
In October, CollateralEdge co-founders Joe Beard and Joel Radtke—who have 40 years of combined experience—announced a high-powered advisory board including Darcy Anderson, vice chairman of Hillwood Management; R. David Kelly, managing director and co-founder of Serra Real Estate Capital; James Watkins, a senior managing director at the Isaac-Milstein Group; and Josh Baer, founder and CEO of Capital Factory.
Nakhleh brings deep banking experience
Now CollateralEdge his kicking off 2022 by introducing Nakhleh, who joined the innovative company in December. As vice president of commercial strategy, Nakhleh will connect directly with bank customers, working to integrate CollateralEdge’s technology across what can be a rigorous underwriting process to secure attractive loan opportunities.
Nakhleh brings to the company 15 years of experience optimizing debt-capital solutions for commercial customers at Bank of America, Bank of Texas, and Veritex Community Bank.
Follows two other leadership hires
The new hire follows two other additions to the CollateralEdge leadership team: Matt Mallett, senior vice president, product, and Brandon Pabalate, director of risk and compliance, were hired last summer.
In November, the company also hired Warren Noble as business strategy analyst. Most recently, the company hired business operations specialist Monica Mitchell.
CollateralEdge was co-founded by Beard, a West Point graduate and former U.S. Army captain who earned his MBA at Columbia University; and by Radtke, a Harvard graduate whose background includes investment banking and private equity.
Their expertise and innovation combined to gain the confidence and backing of several leading investors, including Dallas venture firm Perot Jain; Kneeland Youngblood, founding partner of Pharos Capital Group; Sheldon Stein, president of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and a former vice chairman of Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Derek Alley, CEO of VCC Construction; and Capital Factory CEO Josh Baer.
