Elon Musk has claimed that his humanoid robots could develop unique personalities and even become friends to humans.
The richest person on Earth has revealed plans for his Tesla Bot that could eventually see humans living alongside robots as companions.
Speaking on Lex Fridman’s podcast the owner of Tesla and SpaceX CEO said his robots could one day befriend humans.
He said: “It could develop a personality over time that is unique. It’s not like all the robots are the same.
“That personality could evolve to match the owner, or whatever you want to call it.”

However, Musk explained that he was walking before running when it came to his robots and that he wanted them to do jobs that humans didn’t want to do first.
For example, they could pick fruit and vegetables from farms in Britain.
He added: “That’s what we’re aiming for, for the humanoid robots to do jobs that humans don’t necessarily want to do.”
Musk said they could be used for “repetitive and boring work” that could result in human injury.
He was reluctant to say that humans would be in charge as “owners” and said it felt wrong to say that but said the robots could make the “perfect buddy”.
Fridman, the podcast host, is a scientist who studies human-robot interactions and agreed that Musk’s inventions could combat loneliness.

The humanoid android would stand 5ft 8in tall and weight 56.6kg.
Musk nicknamed the robots Optimus subprime and revealed plans to begin building the Tesla Bot next year.
In the wide-ranging discussion with Fridman over topics of technology and the future, he said that Tesla’s current focus was renewable energies but that in the future Tesla Bots could outnumber their cars.
