Danville, California – June 2024 – J.D.’s OTZ Academy, founded by renowned coach and mentor JD Steinberger, is set to open its virtual doors this June. This innovative e-coaching business aims to provide comprehensive coaching and mentorship to adults struggling with addiction, trauma, impulsivity, resentment, and a lack of coping skills and self-awareness. Breaking the Chains of Addiction
JD Steinberger, the visionary behind JD’s OTZ Academy, has a deeply personal connection to the challenges faced by those battling addiction and unresolved trauma. “I am an open book about my troubled past,” says Steinberger. “I have walked the path of addiction and trauma, and I know what it takes to break free. My goal is to help others do the same, both in and out of the rooms of various 12-step programs.”
Steinberger’s journey has inspired the creation of the Three to Thrive program, a structured approach designed to address the multifaceted nature of addiction and recovery. This program goes beyond the traditional principles, steps, and traditions of AA, offering tailored support for individuals with diverse needs, including those who are people pleasers, social media scrollers, have anxious attachment styles, or experience dysregulated nervous systems.

About J.D. Steinberger
J.D. Steinberger is a seasoned coach and mentor with a passion for helping others overcome addiction and trauma. His personal journey of recovery and growth has equipped him with the insights and empathy needed to guide others through their own challenges.
Growing up a 5th generation San Franciscan in a broken Catholic home, J.D. didn’t know his mother, who was an addict and not around. He was passed off from household to household; he recalls, “ Families in the community all took pity on me and my situation; they opened their doors to me from a very young age,I never knew where home was. Today, I’m so grateful for all of those families.” He was a troubled, angry, and lost teen who lived two identities. ”In my neighborhood, I hung out with gang members who didn’t look like me, so I adapted to them. At school, all the kids were Irish and looked like me, but I still didn’t fit in, so I adapted to look like them.” The only thing that seemed to work was to fill up the hole inside him with drugs and alcohol, impulse driven choices, and dysregulated behavior.
Addiction can have a positive side as as Steinberger started a lifelong pursuit in the gym, he still strength trains to this day, at 49. He attributes his addictive personality to giving him the discipline to always hit the gym and train. He said that without that, he may have been lost forever. “ It’s why strength training is in my Three to Thrive program, its a pillar of building a strong base for one’s self worth, and a lot of what I teach, stems from that.”
Steinberger went on to a highly successful 28 year career in downtown S.F. commercial construction management and then left to become an entrepreneur. He started his umbrella company, “Keep It Blue Inc. in 2021, and under it runs a private day trading firm.
In that same year, he launched a private foundation, called Keep It Blue Foundation, in which he is the sole trustee. The mission is to raise awareness and educate people about the importance of preserving our beaches, oceans, lakes, and all waterways.
