The popular handicraft brand actively participated in the Service of Reflection event of COVID-19 in Newham, London.
LOKLiK, a rising star in the DIY industry striving to be an integral part of society, recently dove into a highly social-related service event cooperating with the Newham government and Momtaz Begum-Hossain, an informative craft master and professional color therapist, in COVID Memorial Garden in Newham, East London. This service of reflection is designed to mark the fourth anniversary of COVID-19 and serves as a reminder of the power of unity in communities.
As a cooperative global brand, LOKLiK showed up with its flagship product, LOKLiK Crafter™, an ultra-quiet intelligent cutting machine perfect for craft beginners and professionals, at this event and helped deliver excellent support and love to the brave volunteers while offering huge condolences to the lives lost in the pandemic time.
At the creative activity, Momtaz and the invited artist, Matt Ponting, organized and guided people to cut out intricate leaf cards symbolizing great reminiscences and blessings of peace and health via LOKLiK Crafter™ and attach them to the hand-carved totems. These leaf cards allow the warm-hearted neighbors to express their will for a promising future while transmuting their deep feelings into physical words and vibrant colors.
“I’ve always been obsessed with diversified colors. They really bring me a sense of calm presence and soothing comfort, which I hope these colorful crafts will do to the comers,” said Momtaz. “And since leaves represent growth, nature, and hope and perfectly fit with the environment, I think they were the ideal motif for the public to record their reflections on. That’s why I chose LOKLiK Crafter™ to craft the cards with the support of LOKLiK IdeaStudio™, its connected graphic program. The results never let me down. The contours are precisely cut, and the process is efficient and effortless. ”
This session is held by the Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, and the local Councillors, Councillor Neil Wilson, Cabinet member for Health and Adult Social Care, and Councillor James Asser, Cabinet Member for Environment and Sustainable Transport, indicating the great importance of recalling the history and looking forward to the future.
“We hope that the new Memorial Garden in Plaistow Park will be a place where those who lost loved ones during the pandemic will find solace. This memorial is a lasting tribute where all generations are invited to visit, sit, reflect, and remember,” said the joint statement of the local councilors.
As a thriving handicraft brand, LOKLiK remains steadfast in implementing its ESG principle from different perspectives, insisting on paying more attention to humanity, culture, and sustainability. “We’re also honored to be part of the COVID Memorial Garden’s legacy with the knowledgeable crafters and artists and share a joint effort in the community. In the future, LOKLiK will keep going for a better, loving, and vibrant world through not only inspiring creativity but also vanguard technology and products,” stated Herman, the CEO of LOKLiK.
*The COVID Memorial Garden was co-created and designed by Matt Ponting, and resident of Newham, one of the London boroughs most heavily impacted by COVID-19, in March 2023. It serves as a platform for people to memorize the lives lost and honor the front-line services and warriors.
