Philanthropist working with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Co-Founder Nasser & Rula Watar Foundation, Watar Brings Expertise to Help America’s Multi-generational Family Businesses
Nasser Watar, an entrepreneur in global automotive, insurance, and real estate businesses has been named to the Board of Directors of Family Enterprise USA.
The announcement was made by Pat Soldano, President, Family Enterprise USA, bipartisan advocates for family businesses, the largest private employer in America.
Watar, managing businesses in the United States, Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia, is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of California-based Trophy Automotive Dealer Group.
Trophy Automotive Dealer Group was founded in 2013 by Watar, who also manages business ventures in various industries such as manufacturing, automotive, finance, and insurance.
“Nasser Watar brings a strong entrepreneurial perspective to running and growing a family business,” said Soldano upon making the board member announcement. “Nasser understands the challenges family businesses face in terms of government regulation, over-taxation, and employee development,” she said. “We look forward to having Nasser provide his insights and advice in helping America’s multi-generational family business prosper and invest in local communities.”
Watar is a longtime philanthropist and with sponsorships formed with Shefa Fund, a partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and other philanthropist. The Shefa Fund tackles meningitis and other similar diseases in Africa.
“I am excited to be part of Family Enterprise USA’s work in helping America’s family business succeed and navigate the many issues we face, with government policies, taxation, and workforce development,” said Watar. “In building my own family business in the automotive sector I understand the complexities family-run business face every day and I hope to provide additional guidance to the board as Family Enterprise USA continues its important work,” he said.
Watar is also the cofounder of Nasser & Rula Watar Foundation (a 501c3 non-profit foundation registered in the US) that cares and funds the education of orphans and empowers the single parent by funding teaching skills) in partnership with Dar Al Aytam Foundation. He is a collaborator to the End Fund, a foundation that tackles neglected tropical diseases and is a benefactor to the University of Southern California for student continuing education.
