MEXICO – You might have come across some of her messages on Instagram, or perhaps someone you know has shared her inspiring quotes. But who is Daniela Kriston? She’s a passionate advocate of writing, music and business. From a young age of seventeen, she embarked on her journey in the entertainment industry. Currently, she plays the roles of a researcher engineer and an indefatigable entrepreneur infused with creativity.
Before her arrival in the country, she sat down with us to share her thoughts on social media, stress, and love.
– First time in MX. How do you feel?
I’m excited and filled with optimism. I have a great enthusiasm for Mexican talent, and I’m truly delighted to have the opportunity to present, which I’m confident will have a positive impact and provide valuable insights.
– Why did you name the event “Reparacion” (Repair)?
In one way or another, we all experience transformative moments in our lives when we’ve felt broken. However, despite that fracture, we find the strength to rise again. This is the core message I bring: that even when we face life’s ups and downs, its moments of calm and its challenges, nothing and no one can harm us when our external appearance is shattered, but our core remains intact. We provide the necessary tools to bravely face the daily challenges of our journey. I’ve traversed many such moments in my own life.
– How can we initiate change?
Erroneously associated emotions lead to misguided patterns. Despite our mind’s attempts, intellect alone cannot dismantle these ingrained patterns. Unlearning involves relinquishment, marking the beginning. The first step is to let go, to abandon the familiarity of how we’ve grown accustomed to being. We must recognize that the former version of ourselves no longer serves us. Opting to leave behind our habitual ways and acknowledging that everything has changed is key. First, we must embrace our identity and modes of being, and from there, even if the truth is painful, it will set us free. This is the most effective way to embark on a journey of self-improvement.
– How can we navigate the overwhelming stress in our lives?
It’s possible to be busy without achieving meaningful results. Stress often intertwines with the future, with the anxiety of avoiding today’s responsibilities and deferring them until tomorrow. It might seem simplistic, but stress has come to define us over the years.
Anxiety can also arise when we don’t dedicate ourselves to our true passions. Disliking our current work and feeling disconnected from the life we desire can lead to stress, especially when we’re unwilling to pay the necessary price to pursue the life we need. Stress can result from chasing what’s essential to us rather than feeling trapped in a bitter existence.
– Love is another aspect we seem to be losing. What’s your perspective on this?
Love represents the pinnacle of the human experience. It’s the only action that holds immense value. We all yearn for love, but it’s not merely an emotion or even a feeling; it’s a conscious choice. My mission is to promote love, to make it a trend, and to spread it to others. Although there are various forms of love, ultimately, they’re all rooted in truth and gratitude. These are fundamental virtues of human nature. While humanity possesses inherent kindness, at times, we seem to be losing sight of our humanity. It’s disheartening to witness how romanticism is now trivialized, labeled as naivety or cliche. It even appears that fidelity is becoming a concept reserved for earlier generations, while committing to spending a lifetime with one person is often deemed excessive rather than an enriching challenge. Falling deeply in love with one person should be celebrated as an achievement.
Social Media
It all starts with the motivation behind how you use and consume social media, which is intimately connected to your values and belief system. I believe they’re an incredible platform. Thanks to them, you can reach a vast number of people, yet simultaneously, social media bombards us with the notion that we’re not enough. If someone has a million dollars, you switch to another profile and discover someone with five million. Social media urges you daily to compare yourself, and in doing so, you belittle yourself and devalue your life. You’re not truly admiring what you see; instead, you’re craving what that person has, yet you’re unwilling to bear the cost that person has paid to achieve it. Comparison clouds your clarity of vision, and lacking clarity can leave you lost in life, leading to profound anguish.
Social media squanders our time as we seek an action often absent from our own lives. However, if you use them to motivate yourself and push your boundaries, they have a role. The value of life isn’t measured by how many things you start but by how many you complete. Social media should serve as a tool to filter the positive. It’s unfortunate that many young people aspire to have a million followers, and gradually, humans are becoming mere numbers, which shouldn’t be the case. A digital connection can never match a heart-to-heart bond. Social media doesn’t connect with the heart or the human spirit, and a “like” can’t compare to a handshake. We need the ability to maintain balance and understand that follower count doesn’t diminish our intelligence. Likes and followers shouldn’t be anyone’s validation. If you spend your time listening to mediocre individuals, typical realists, or those who give up without being prompted, that mindset can influence you.
Moments of Vulnerability
How often have we feared situations that don’t reflect reality? Fear has the ability to construct imaginary scenarios within our minds. What does your fear perceive? Sometimes, we only see what we want to see, a way to justify our lack of courage and the mediocrity that sometimes follows our path. In this life, there’s no possibility of avoiding mistakes or evading pain. The obstacle isn’t the pain itself but our resistance to confront it. There comes a point in life when it’s necessary to decisively leave behind sadness. You must rise again, simply for the joy of facing the battle anew. If a situation in your life isn’t evolving, it’s likely you who must change. Pain, in reality, can be beneficial; challenges keep us humble and in constant reflection.
