A southern Indiana hospital reached a life-saving milestone.This week, Baptist Health Floyd completed its 250th surgery with the help of a special robot.The “Da Vinci” system allows doctors to minimize the invasiveness of the procedure.That can make a big difference for how long it takes a patient to recover. “A lot of time the robot allows them to get into those tough areas where they normally wouldn’t be able to in a typical laproscopic case, which allows them to do more complex cases at that time,” said David Ulrich, Robotic Coordinator and Educator for Surgical Services at Baptist Health Floyd.The “DaVinci” is one of three robotic surgical systems used by doctors at the hospital.
