In this interview series, I talk to key leaders from rising startups that are in demand and have a stake in the future of technology. These companies are making an impact in their industries and are NextGen in terms of product, platform, and service.
In this interview, I had the pleasure to talk to Yaron Lipshitz, CEO of Allseated.
I had a chance to see Allseated’s EXVO virtual event platform, and let me tell you this; I was amazed. With extensive conversations going on about the “Metaverse,” their product is one of the most advanced in that space.
About Allseated:
Allseated is the world’s most innovative event technology platform, powering hundreds of thousands of events a year. Through a cutting-edge 3D visualization platform including floorplan design tools, venue virtual tours, and revolutionary virtual/hybrid event solutions, Allseated is transforming the event industry and leveraging innovation with superior customer service to help clients grow their businesses. It is the pure power of imagining together.
Q: Where did the initial idea for EXVO (Allseateds virtual event product) come from?
The events industry suffered the worst time in its history throughout covid, and everything was forced to move to virtual. Zoom and zoom-like platforms provided a quick fix for that transition, but we felt that they didn’t deliver on the core reasons for doing an event – experience, networking, branding. Since our pre-covid product had the ability to visualize events before they happened, in minutes, we thought that having an event in a digital twin of a physical venue with the same layout would bring back all the missing pieces from the flat 2D experience.
Q: What are the key differentiated features of your product or service?
It is a real event experience inside a metaverse today that fusion of virtual and physical is all over the news, but this was not the case last year. Attendees can explore, network, consume content, visit stages, and more, all in a real digital twin of a venue. It provides much higher engagement, and attendees love the special experience they get. For the organizers, it’s a way to extend the reach of their events while maintaining the experience
Q: How does the company market or plan to market its products or services?
We use a variety of channels, very similar to other saas companies. We focus on the visuals of the product.
Q: What kind of CRM software is your company using?
We use Salesforce extensively throughout the company.
Q: What’s the first bit of advice you’d give to someone who’s thinking of starting their own startup?
Make sure that there is a good market for the problem you are trying to solve.
Q: What is the key to happy clients?
Very simple – an amazing product that delights the users and great customer service where you always do the right thing.
Q: How do you strengthen your ability to focus on what matters?
At each stage of a startup, you will need to focus on different things to get you to success. You need to figure out what is the next thing in your journey that will make the biggest difference and quantify the KPIs associated with it.
Q: What other companies or startups inspire you?
Netflix is one – their ability to pivot a few times, for example, from DVD to streaming, from licensing to original content and get it so right is remarkable. I am also a big fan of small businesses where owners put their heart and soul into everything so they can provide something unique and not necessarily at scale.
