Neythri Futures Fund, or NFF, aims to address the diversity gap in venture capital with its first $10 million fund, with a roster of over 200 limited partners. Ninety percent of the fund’s LPs are South Asian women, and 70% are first-time investors.
The new firm’s LPs include Archana Ramamoorthy, a director at Google; Shobhana Ahluwalia, chief information officer at Peloton; and Sundari Mitra, chief incubation officer at Intel. Other LPs include VMWare CEO Raghu Raghuram, Mayfield Fund managing director Navin Chaddha, and Somesh Dash, a general partner at IVP.
Neythri Futures Fund’s solo general partner and founder, Mythili Sankaran, also cofounded and leads Neythri.org, a global community of South Asian professional women.
The fund has already made early investments in startups such as blockchain developer Alchemy.io; Neeva, an ad-free private search engine, and fintech startup Orum.io.
