The award follows TradeZero signing a definitive agreement on October 12, 2021 with Dune Acquisition Corporation (Nasdaq: DUNE, DUNEW, DUNEU) (“Dune”), a special purpose acquisition corporation, which would result in TradeZero becoming a publicly traded company under the name “TradeZero Global Inc.”
“We are grateful to Benzinga and those who voted for us,” said Daniel Pipitone, TradeZero’s CEO and Co-Founder. “Winning this award for two straight years validates our belief that we have the best short-selling tools for active retail traders. As a full-featured trading platform designed to address the full spectrum of active traders, we look forward to repeating this feat next year, as well as competing and hopefully winning in additional categories.”
TradeZero’s Short Locates platform enables customers to quickly source both easy and hard to find stocks in order to rapidly implement bi-directional trading strategies. TradeZero also provides the unique ability to sell back Locates once customers are done with them or get credit for unused Locates. Most customers do not hold positions overnight, mitigating the need to actually borrow short shares.
“The Benzinga Fintech Awards were created to celebrate innovation in Fintech and the leveling of the playing field for the individual investor,” said Jason Raznick, Benzinga CEO. “Congratulations to Dan Pipitone and the entire TradeZero team for being recognized by our panel of industry expert judges for bringing a powerful solution to the market.”
Benzinga Global Fintech Awards winners and nominees can be found on the Benzinga Fintech Awards website. Mr. Pipitone, TradeZero Co-Founder John Ferrera, and TradeZero VP of Product & Marketing Dan Karlin demonstrated TradeZero’s Short Locates technology at the Benzinga awards show.
