Wandelbots brought in $84 million in Series C funding, bringing the company’s total funding to $123 million. The Series C funding is led by Insight Partners, a New York-based global private equity and venture capital firm. The round also included participation from previous investors like 83North, Microsoft, Next47, Pana, Atlantic Labs and EQT.
The company takes a no-code approach to programming robots with its Wandelbots Teaching platform. The platform allows companies to work with robots by mapping out the robot’s path using TracePen, which was released by the company in 2020. TracePen adjusts the robot’s path via an app and can transfer the application to any other robot.
TracePen’s tracking allows users to plan out a path down to the millimeter. Currently, the system works with robots from Universal Robots and Yaskawa.

“One of the largest challenges we see in the adoption of robotics and increased automation, from a time, cost, and talent perspective, is robot programming. Wandelbots dramatically streamlines robot programming across OEMs and manufacturers using a platform approach,” Philine Huizing, principal at Insight Partners and Wandlebots board member, said. “Their impressive manufacturing partnerships and strong technical team have made Wandelbots a standout in the industry.”
The company plans to use the funding to scale Wandelbots Teaching to work with more robots for more applications in more regions. To do so, the company will accelerate hiring and build go-to-market organizations in the U.S. and Asia. It also plans to open its robotics software platform to automation solution providers, allowing them to build robot applications on top of a manufacturer-agnostic control plane.
“I’m very proud to see Wandelbots mission become a reality. Our platform will help to accelerate human-centred robotics solutions in the industry,” Christian Piechnick, CEO and co-founder of Wandelbots, said. “We look forward to working with Insight Partners and can’t wait to see what developers will create in the future based on our transformative technology.”
