The latest moves and appointments in around the Asia-Pacific wealth management sector.

Withers

Withers has appointed
Paul Jebely as a senior partner based in its Hong Kong office and
head of its newly-launched global asset finance practice.

Jebely is joining from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, where he
was managing partner of the Hong Kong office and co-chair of the
firm’s private wealth and asset finance practices. He primarily
represents ultra-high net worth individuals and their business
enterprises. His clients presently include many notable
individuals listed in the Forbes Rich List as well as major
corporations, both listed and privately held. He has served as
counsel on well over $20 billion in transactions over the last 15
years.

Jebely was named by Chambers & Partners as the top private
aircraft and yachts aviation attorney globally in 2018 (and has
been recognised by the prestigious publication as the top private
aviation attorney in Asia since 2016). He has won other awards.

Jebely is also quoted by the Financial Times, Wall Street
Journal, Forbes
and other international publications on
aviation. He is qualified to practice law in England and Wales,
the US (New York and Washington State) and Canada (Ontario).

Qiming Venture Partners

Qiming
Venture Partners, the Chinese venture capital firm overseeing
funds of $6.2 billion, has brought back Shiyu Wang as a partner.
Shiyu Wang will co-lead the TMT team, managing and investing in
the internet and consumer sectors.

Shiyu Wang previously worked at Qiming Venture Partners from 2012
to 2016.

“I know Qiming very well, and identify very much with its
culture. I have also personally experienced the respect and
support that Qiming provides to the entrepreneurs,” Shiyu Wang
said.

“China is a world-class consumer country, and I believe there are
still many opportunities and huge upgrade potential in the
country’s consumer market in the next five to 10 years. Qiming
Venture Partners has excellent investment performances in mobile
internet, especially in internet community and social
networking.”

Founded in 2006, Qiming Venture Partners has offices in Shanghai,
Beijing, Suzhou, Hong Kong, Seattle, Boston and the San Francisco
Bay Area. It manages 10 US dollar funds and six RMB funds with
$6.2 billion in assets under management capital raised. Since its
debut it has backed more than 430 companies, and more than 170 of

develop and manage a range of mixed-asset investment strategies
for advisors, discretionary fund managers and institutional
