Denso ransomware attack – Pandora gang claims to steal 1.4 TB of data

The world’s second-largest automotive components supplier Denso Corporation has confirmed a ransomware attack affecting its operations in Germany.

Denso Corporation has confirmed suffering a ransomware attack at Denso Automotive Deutschland GmbH, affecting its operations. This group company handles Denso’s engineering and sales in Germany.

The company has informed concerned authorities and currently collaborating with cyber-forensic experts for an in-depth investigation of the incident. 

Incident Details

According to the company’s representative, Izumi Saito, an unauthorized party accessed its networks last Thursday. However, its IT team responded promptly. Saito confirmed that the cyber incident no more impacts the company’s operations.

Furthermore, Denso claims that other services or production plants weren’t impacted, which is why there’s no disruption to manufacturing schedules. In a notice on its website, the company also apologized to its clients for the inconveniences caused by the attack.

Denso would like to express its sincerest apologies for any concern or inconvenience resulting from this incident. Denso Group will once again strengthen security measures and work to prevent a recurrence.

Pandora Group Claims Responsibility

As seen by Hackread.com, the Pandora ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the attack The group’s leak site revealed that 1.4TB of data had been stolen from the auto supplier.

Pandora group has also threatened Denso to leak its trade secrets, including over 157,000 purchase orders/ invoices, emails, and part diagrams, reported Mitsui Bussan Secure Directions Inc., a Japanese cybersecurity firm.

Pandora’s leak site, which Hackread.com accessed through the Tor browser, displayed details of the attack and a download link that shows a list of files accessed by the ransomware gang.
