Eric Schmidt’s VC Firm Backed Tromzo After Seeing This Pitch Deck

  • Cybersecurity platform Tromzo recently raised $3 million in a seed funding found.
  • The firm was backed by Endeavour Adventures, the VC firm cofounded by Google veteran Eric Schmidt.
  • Insider got an exclusive look at the pitch deck Tromzo used to bring investors on board.

Tromzo, a cybersecurity startup that aims to ease friction between developers and security engineers, recently raised $3 million in a round backed by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt’s VC firm.

The San Francisco-based firm, which was founded earlier this year, hopes to disrupt the former multi-billion dollar cybersecurity industry. The company’s platform helps developers identify which security issues need to be prioritized.

Tromzo believes the relationship between over-worked developers and anxious security bosses, whose opposing priorities can often put them at loggerheads.

While the former works around the clock just to keep software programs functional, in-house cybersecurity teams will have to log multiple requests and queries to get glitches and vulnerabilities fixed, causing friction between teams.

The startup’s platform helps developers to get out in front of the problem, allowing them to constantly monitor their applications for security breaches, set up automatic security alerts across their network, and deploy instructions on how to deal with problems as and when they arise.

“Modern application security teams are overwhelmed and frustrated,” said Harshil Parikh, cofounder and CEO of Tromzo.

“They are spending all their time trying to convince developers and chasing them to fix security issues. This makes scaling their application security program practically impossible and they constantly feel they are being left behind.”

Tromzo’s $3 million round was backed by Silicon Valley CISO investments, a consortium of chief information security officers, including Caleb Sima, of trading app Robinhood, and Steve Pugh of the New York Stock Exchange. The firm was also backed by Innovation Endeavours, the venture capital firm cofounded by Google veteran Schmidt in 2011.
