The future of automation is here, and it’s coming to a Pizza Hut in Israel.
Hyper Food Robotics, an Israel-based technology firm, is looking to construct fast food chains managed entirely by robots.
The company is attempting to establish a fully-automated Pizza Hut branch in Israel, the first venture of its kind in the country.
According to Hyper Food Robotics’ website, these futuristic fast food chains will be run “with an automatic, robotic, and autonomous system, that will prepare and package food that is ready for delivery and consumption, without any human involvement.”
The enterprise is being run by Udi Shamai, an entrepreneur who also owns Pizza Hut Israel.
Shamai sat down with i24NEWS to discuss his vision for the project.
“This is the future… It’s a very hard industry, and I think all the time – why should people do a job that a machine can do a lot better?” Shamai explained to i24NEWS, adding that the pizza making robots manage the process in a cleaner way.
Shamai said the branch will not just be run by one robot, but an entire program.
“There’s a layer of software that runs the whole show,” the entrepreneur said, detailing that over 100 sensors, and around 40 artificial intelligence cameras will monitor the pizzas to ensure optimal quality.
The branch is expected to open when the restaurant receives the necessary permits and approval from inspectors of the facility.
