CompatibL Wins Best New Technology Award at American Financial Technology Awards 2021

We are excited to announce that CompatibL has received the “Best New Technology Introduced Over the Last 12 Months” award in the Trading and Risk category at WatersTechnology American Financial Technology Awards 2021 (AFTAs).

Alexander Sokol, CompatibL’s Executive Chairman and Head of Quant Research, said:
“The American Financial Technology Award for the Best New Technology is an important opportunity for us to talk about our vision and demonstrate how machine learning is evolving trading and risk software and touching every aspect of the front, middle, and back office. On behalf of the CompatibL team, I am extremely proud to receive this award and of the work we have done thus far. I am honored that WatersTechnology has recognized our work on applying machine learning to the measurement of pandemic era credit risk.”

Victor Anderson, global content director of WatersTechnology, said:
“Every year, the American Financial Technology Awards recognize the most innovative third-party technology providers and end-users for their operational and technology breakthroughs, outstanding achievements and contributions to the industry. CompatibL has demonstrated its significant contribution to the evolution of credit risk modeling in 2021, which will impact the financial technology industry in a positive manner.”

What are Market Generators?
CompatibL’s market generators are machine learning algorithms for generating additional samples of market data when a historical time series has insufficient length to satisfy a model without relying on any preconceived notions about the data. They are able to generate the data for time horizons between 1 and 30 years that risk models require, making possible the accurate measurement of credit risk, limits, insurance reserves (economic scenario generation), and macro strategy performance during the COVID-19 pandemic, which introduced dramatic changes in financial markets that rendered the old data obsolete.

The market generator technology is based on the pioneering research by Alexander Sokol (in collaboration with Alexei Kondratyev), which was presented and extensively discussed at numerous industry conferences, including Risk Live 2020, Risk Live 2021, WBS Quantitative Finance Conference 2021, and WBS Quantitative Finance Conference Spring Edition 2021.

About American Financial Technology Awards (AFTAs)
The American Financial Technology Awards (AFTAs) are the premier awards program for technology innovation in financial services. Hosted by Waters magazine and WatersTechnology, the AFTAs recognize excellence in the deployment and management of financial technology within the asset management and investment banking communities. The awards are presented in multiple categories recognizing banks, brokers, asset manager, hedge funds, and third-party technology providers.
