How this 1:1 Skills Mastery Program Facilitates Employees’ Growth
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Recognizing an employee’s potential is a critical aspect of investing in the most important asset in an organization: the people. From acknowledging their internal career aspirations to honing their skills, providing opportunities for growth and development is one of the most effective ways to retain talent.

When companies fail to address the internal mobility aspirations of their employees, they risk losing valuable talent. This not only affects their ability to build a strong bench of skilled individuals but also results in ineffective utilization of their current workforce.

According to a 2023 survey, 1/3 of employees who have resigned cite the lack of development and career opportunities as their primary reason for leaving. When employees start to question their direction in the company, they tend to seek alternative opportunities. Employers must prioritize the provision of resources and assistance that facilitate employee growth and development, as this can significantly contribute to retaining valuable talent.

On the other hand, companies may fail to recognize the talent that they already have in-house if they lack knowledge on which skills are required for in-demand jobs, resulting in the struggle to train and develop their employees accordingly. Additionally, those that lack systematic succession and contingency planning may struggle to plan for future needs, making it difficult to choose the right skills for employees to develop. As a result, companies may face difficulties in promoting employee growth and development, and ultimately, suffer from a loss of talent.

How Growthspace Bridges this Gap

Growthspace recognizes this symbiotic pain between organizations and employees, which served as the catalyst for their latest product, Career Pathway Programs, a 1:1 program that empowers participants to select their next role in the organization and see which skills to work on to effectively get from point A to B.

The latest addition to their cutting-edge platform enables employees to not just hone their current skill sets and improve their focus areas, but also to look beyond their present roles, envision their career trajectory, and leverage Growthspace’s data-driven L&D programs to facilitate their growth.

Dan Terner, Co-Founder and COO of Growthspace, shares that their goal is to give equal opportunity for leaders to retain talent and for employees to fulfill their professional aspirations and define their next step in the organization and work toward achieving it. “As leaders, we have a responsibility to not only develop our employees’ skills but also their careers,” he said. “Career Pathway Programs is a game-changer as it empowers individuals to take ownership of their career trajectory while providing organizations with a powerful tool to increase employee retention and foster internal mobility. Growthspace is committed to helping companies achieve their business goals through the continuous growth and skills mastery of their people.”

How Career Pathways Program Impacts Organizations

Career Pathway Programs enable HR leaders to reduce turnover, boost engagement, and invest in employee development. What’s more, L&D/OD leaders can leverage a single platform to identify skills aligned with organizational goals, monitor program effectiveness, and assign employees to suitable projects. Finally, participants benefit by defining and pursuing their professional goals within the organization, vertically and laterally.

Moreover, Dror Yaacobi, VP of Global HR & Organizational Development at SimilarWeb, reiterates the integral role of Growthspace in shaping their organizational model’s L&D. “Growthspace’s career pathway programs allow us to support our employees’ professional aspirations, all tied to our unique core competency model,” he stated. “Employees have the opportunity to upskill and reskill, working on the exact skills and behaviors needed to reach that next level in their career journey.”
