Monica Smith is the Marketing and Community Development Manager for NC State Entrepreneurship. Her primary responsibilities include managing the digital and print marketing strategy and designing and implementing marketing campaigns to support entrepreneurship programs and share the story of NC State Entrepreneurship. Monica also oversees the Entrepreneurship Ambassador Program and The Entrepreneurship Alliance; a group of entrepreneurship programs and units across the university that support student entrepreneurs.

Monica joined the NC State Entrepreneurship team in 2019 and brings nearly 9 years of experience in higher education marketing. Prior to joining the team, Monica worked at California State University, Northridge and at the Stanford Technology Ventures Program – the entrepreneurship center at Stanford’s School of Engineering. Monica holds a B.S. in Marketing with a double minor in finance and business law from California State University, Northridge. She also holds an MBA with a concentration in technology innovation from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Monica is fluent in Spanish and has experience in omni-channel marketing strategies, branding, paid and organic social media strategy, website management, focus groups, project management, market research, data and analytics, SEO and Google Analytics.
