The Rolling Stones and Boston Dynamics have dropped a special collaboration video, as Boston Dynamics robots imitate Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood to recreate a new eye-catching version of the band’s iconic “Start Me Up” video from 1981. The track celebrates its 40th anniversary this month.

In a first of its kind for the world’s leading robotics company, the unique collaboration sees Boston Dynamics robots get into the rhythm to re-enact the original music video of “Start Me Up,” a fan favorite and one of the Stones’ signature tracks. The fun video, released today, marks the first time Boston Dynamics have recreated a music video this way.

“Start Me Up,” first released in 1981, features on the 40th anniversary editions of The Rolling Stones’ multi-platinum album Tattoo You, which are out now.

The newly-remastered and expanded Tattoo You (40th Anniversary Edition) is available now, and features no fewer than nine previously unreleased tracks from the era. Tracks include the rocking “Living In The Heart Of Love,” which captures the quintessential Stones rock sound of the time with urgent guitar and piano features.

The original 11-track album included such enduring Stones tracks as the rock favorite “Hang Fire,” the atmospheric “Waiting On A Friend,” which featured a memorable appearance by saxophone giant Sonny Rollins, and of course the immortal opening track “Start Me Up.”

The deluxe formats of Tattoo You (40th Anniversary Edition) will also include Lost & Found: Rarities and Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982. The Lost & Found disc features nine unreleased tracks from the Tattoo You era, newly completed and enhanced with additional vocals and guitar by the band.

As well as “Living In The Heart Of Love,” they include a great version of their blues hero Jimmy Reed’s 1963 staple “Shame, Shame, Shame,” a cover of Dobie Gray’s 1973 soul standard and Top 5 US pop hit “Drift Away,” and a different version of “Start Me Up” with a reggae vibe.

Still Life: Wembley Stadium 1982 captures the Stones’ London show in June of that year on the Tattoo You tour. The 26-track set features an opening “Under My Thumb” and many of their greatest hits including “Let’s Spend The Night Together,” You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” “Honky Tonk Women,” “Miss You,” and “Brown Sugar.” The set included cover of the Temptations’ “Just My Imagination,” Eddie Cochran’s “Twenty Flight Rock,” the Miracles’ “Going To A Go Go,” and the Big Bopper’s “Chantilly Lace”; and live versions of then-new Tattoo You tracks such as “Start Me Up,” “Neighbours,” “Little T&A,” and “Hang Fire.”

Buy or stream Tattoo You (40th Anniversary Edition).
