Written By Damien Geras

As wildfires continue to ravage different parts of the United States and Canada, the impact of wildfire smoke on air quality and human health has become a growing concern. Recent studies have revealed alarming findings, indicating that wildfire smoke is ten times more dangerous than typical PM2.5 pollution. This revelation has prompted health organizations such as the CDC, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the American Lung Association to emphasize the critical need for effective solutions to combat the detrimental effects of wildfire smoke on indoor air quality.

According to a study from Nature Communications, wildfire smoke contains significantly higher levels of harmful particulate matter compared to regular PM2.5 pollution. This poses a severe threat to public health, as exposure to these elevated levels of pollutants can lead to a wide range of respiratory and cardiovascular issues, particularly in vulnerable populations such as children, the elderly, and individuals with pre-existing health conditions.

The CDC, WHO, and the American Lung Association have all voiced their concerns regarding the damaging effects of wildfire smoke on human health. They have highlighted the urgent need for practical solutions to mitigate the impact of wildfire smoke on indoor air quality. One such solution that has gained traction is the use of HEPA 13 filtered air purifier – best home air cleaners.

HEPA 13 filters are renowned for their exceptional ability to remove 99.99% of airborne pathogens down to 0.1 microns in size. This level of filtration is crucial in combatting the hazardous components present in wildfire smoke, effectively reducing the risk of indoor air pollution and safeguarding individuals from inhaling harmful particles.

America’s indoor air quality expert, Steve Fontaine, has been a vocal advocate for clean air and the importance of eliminating indoor air pollution. Fontaine emphasizes that investing in HEPA 13 filtered air purifiers is paramount in ensuring a healthy indoor environment, especially during periods of heightened wildfire activity. This is an affordable solution you can buy a bedroom air purifier for less than $100.

“Clean air is not just a luxury; it’s a necessity for our well-being. HEPA 13 filtered air purifiers provide an effective defense against airborne pollutants, including those originating from wildfire smoke,” says Steve Fontaine.

Fontaine further recommends visiting his website to access a comprehensive list of air purifiers that he has personally tested or installed in his own home. He believes that this resource can empower individuals to make informed decisions when selecting air purifiers that best suit their indoor air quality needs.

In addition to advocating for the use of HEPA-13 & 14 filtered air purifiers, Steve Fontaine can give you a complementary consultation to help your school, public buildings, businesses, or even your house. www.stevefontaine-iaq.com
