A company that aims to disrupt the custom framing industry, Framebridge, has already expanded to some of New York City’s trendiest neighborhoods and will soon be calling Hoboken home.
Washington, D.C.-based Framebridge is officially coming to a storefront at 507 Washington Street. The arrival is a long time coming for the property, which was significantly rebuilt and renovated following a devastating 2016 fire and has not had a ground floor retail tenant since the blaze.
Framebridge is still a fairly new endeavor, as the company was founded by Susan Tynan in 2014. The brand currently operates 15 locations and recently opened outposts in Greenwich Village and the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Williamsburg and Cobble Hill.
The store allows customers to either upload photography or mail in their art or pictures to be framed and has onboarded several big names in the design industry. Nate Berkus of TLC’s “Nate & Jeremiah by Design” joined Framebridge several years ago as a creative advisor, helping to design new collections of frames.
Signage for the Hoboken storefront was approved by the city’s Historic Preservation Committee late last year and the Hoboken store is officially listed on Framebridge’s website. The Washington Street outpost, which will be the company’s 16th location, is set to open later this year.
